Privacy Policy for jd.Edit and jd-edit.app
Last updated: August 2026
The essentials first
jd.Edit processes all data exclusively on your device. The app has no servers of its own, no accounts, no advertising and no tracking. No personal data is collected, stored or shared with third parties.

Recordings and files
The microphone is used only with your explicit permission and only for recordings you start yourself. Recordings, imported and edited files are stored exclusively within the app on your device. They leave the device only when you share, export or transfer them yourself — and they are gone when you delete them.
Wi-Fi transfer
The Wi-Fi transfer starts a small web server directly on the device. It runs only while the transfer view is open, is reachable only from your own network and is protected by an access code. Files travel directly between your devices; no servers of the provider or of third parties are involved. Note that the transfer within your local network is unencrypted — use it only in networks you trust.
App Store
When you obtain the app through the App Store, Apple processes data under its own responsibility (for example to deliver the download or — with your consent — anonymized crash reports). Details are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
This website (jd-edit.app)
The website, too, works without accounts, cookies, tracking or analytics. No third-party content is embedded — no external fonts, scripts or CDNs; visiting the site creates no connection to other providers. Your language choice is stored only locally in your browser (localStorage) and is never transmitted to us.
When pages are requested, our web server technically processes what your browser sends — IP address, time, requested page, browser identifier. These server logs serve solely the secure and stable operation of the site (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), are not combined with any other data, and are deleted automatically — the log files rotate daily and are removed after 14 days at the latest. All traffic is TLS-encrypted.
The website is hosted on our own server at Hetzner Online GmbH (data centers in Germany); no further processors within the meaning of the GDPR are involved. If you write to us by email, we process your details only to answer your request.
Your rights
Beyond the short-lived server logs, neither the app nor the website collects personal data — so the provider holds no data that could be disclosed, corrected or deleted. Your rights under the GDPR (Articles 15–21) remain unaffected, as does your right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. We answer questions at help@jd-edit.app.
